Notes throughout the Club Year............by Caroline Bodington

Painswick Gardening Club: Spring is Springing......

I love this time of the year although I'd prefer a bit more warmth! Sowing, hoeing and almost mowing.....and so many plans for the year ahead but still time to wander with a mug of tea and just enjoy the bulbs and buds

This year the Club has planned monthly speakers and events throughout the whole year - apart from August. I mentioned last month that we had some great speakers lined up. A sea of faces greeted Tim Walker recently and he didn't disappoint. A truly inspirational and talented man captivated and entertained his audience all evening: so many laughs!

We're chuffed that Member/Visitor numbers are increasing each month - yes, you can still

join up. I'd like to thank absolutely everyone for supporting the Club: it's much appreciated.

If you fancy listening to Ross Barbour (Helen Picton's husband - Picton Nurseries, Malvern) talk about 'Unusual Bulbs' on March 14th (Church Rooms, 7.30pm), come and join us      (visitors £4 p.p.). I believe he could be bringing plants for sale too.

A hitch prevents me confirming the date of our plant sale until next month but we will be holding one! If you're spring cleaning sheds etc and have gardening paraphernalia and terracotta pots that you don't need, we'd be delighted to take "stuff" off your hands....along with surplus seedlings, cuttings etc; thank you.

Off to weed.....again!
